Ecosystem Walks

Monterey & Gowen Cypress Forests - Pebble Beach & Pt. Lobos

Only a few hundred acres of native forest and habitat remains for these imperiled tree species. Monterey Cypress only live naturally along the shore of Carmel Bay in Pebble Beach and at Point Lobos. Gowen Cypress' native habitat is primarily in Huckelberry Hill in Pebble Beach and a few tiny scattered places nearby. They both are found only living alongside and among the imperiled Monterey Pine forest ecosystem.
