Helping Our Peninsula's Environment

You Can Help Stop the Burning of Fort Ord by Emailing a Letter to Our Congressman, our Senators, and the new Governor.

Just click on the underlined link below to express your concern --

Instant-Email to Congressman Sam Farr

Instant-Email to Governor Schwarzenegger

Instant-Email to Senators Boxer and Feinstein

The email letter reads -

 Dear (Congressman Farr),

Poison Oak smoke is deadly to the 20,000 asthmatic County residents who may be fumigated by the Fort Ord Burning.

You may not know the Army intends to burn the 30 square miles of Ft Ord continuously for the next 10 to 15 years.

The last Army burn made a smoke cloud over 100 miles long which shorted out electrical power lines and sent schoolchildren to the hospital.

I respectfully ask that you please write the US-EPA and the US-Army to stop all burning until an Environmental Health Analysis is conducted as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

A genuine health analysis should clearly recommend the far cleaner and safer non-burning location and removal alternatives.

Thank you.

(Just add your name and address here. )

(You can also change or add to the email letter in any way you wish.)
