How to Stop Smartmeter Installation at your home (877) 743-7378

PG$E has a phone number (877) 743-7378 that will stop installation of a Smartmeter at your home for about 18 months – until the PUC or the Legislature acts.

Tell them you do not want a Smartmeter installed period.

If you have received a letter from PG$E telling you they will be installing Smart Meters soon, call Wellington Energy, their contractor, at 1-866-671-1001 and ask that they send the work order back to PG$E.

Warning: PG$E installed when he was away in June – even though a Pacific Grove Resident followed these directions perfectly.

When he called PG$E to complain they said “Well we never guaranteed you wouldn’t get one.”

That shows PG$E’s arrogance.

  1. Vince says:

PGE had my meter installed in mid-June anyway and now tells me there never was a guarantee. Five weeks after I first called. This is wrong.

I first called them in April and was put on the “OPT-OUT list.” At that time I was told that my installation would be delayed, pending the CA PUC decision (due in September). PGE even gave me a confirmation number.

I have called Rep. Monning to get this straightened out. His office is very cooperative. If this happened to you call him. Phone- 649-2832
